The Difficulties of Living [OPEN]

[Dr. Manhattan]

Dr. Manhattan slowly hovered down the main street of this new city he was venturing into. The likes of which he had not seen on his Earth, never knowing these same faces he observed everything. The details here were essentially the same, water was still made of hydrogen and oxygen. Subatomic particles were still bouncing into the future and the past. This reality was the same in principle except with some minor, humanitarian changes. Humanity itself here was different than on his Earth, for the most part the appearance of other super powered beings. On his Earth he was the only being with power. Slowly as he phased through every human on his way, Manhattan heard a scream.

Coming from a side ally, a woman's scream begging for help. She stumbled from the ally from behind her a shot was fired. Manhattan held up his hand and in an instant the bullet turned to steam, fizzling up into the air harmlessly. Manhattan did this because his future told him he would, he knew he would stop the bullet. He couldn't let any of these new earth individuals die before he got a chance to study them. The woman stumbled away, clenching her purse and the man followed. "What the hell do you call that?" The angry thug aimed his gun at Manhattan. "I'd like to see you try that again!" As the thug clenched the trigger, Manhattan instantly disassembled it. The pieces of it floating in the air slowly fell to the floor as Manhattan turned it into dust. Not saying a word. The thug ran away. Everyone on the street clapped for him but Manhattan simply floated on down his path of thought.

Maki was happily eating her ice cream. Nothing was better to her than to have such a sweet treat like this one after school. For once, she'd let lady Kairi alone (her master could take care of herself after all) and had gone to buy some school supplies. Of course, she ended up spending her money on the most unusual and nonsensical things, like a cute kitty shaped eraser or a plastic ruler with glitter on the inside, and now she'd spend some of the money on ice cream. You couldn't blame her! Blame Kairi for trusting someone like Maki with money.

She continued her way down the street when some thug chasing a woman ran pass her making her lose her balance and drop her ice cream... Oh no... those c*nts didn't JUST do that. Her happy grin turned into a nasty smirk. Well, she still had her knives hidden under her uniform.

Maki stood there, letting the anger fill her up for a moment, before lightly getting her knives out in one smooth motion. Butterfly knives. She moved them both fast enough, way too fast for someone who looked that young, and prepared herself for battle. NO ONE MADE HER THROW HER ICE CREAM!

The young girl started chasing the thug, both knives on her hands, but when they turned a corner, a blue man was standing there. Literally. He was blue. What the f*ck? And he stopped a bullet right away. Her eyes narrowed. Maybe he was one of those Titans she'd heard about since arriving to this city. And now the man who'd made her drop her ice cream had started running away. Oh no.

She let the clapping people cheer on the blue man and she quickly left the scene, after the man she ran. It didn't take too long. Maki jumped and he landed on top of the thug. "What the-" He seemed surprised to find himself on the floor with a little petite girl in a high school uniform straddling him to the floor. The girl smiled wickedly down at him.

"You're just a p*ssy, aren't you?" She asked, shaking her head down at him. Someone unworthy of living. It didn't last long. She quickly moved her arms down, knives in hands, and slit his throat open. He didn't even had the time to scream.

Maki just stood and looked down at her clothes with a sigh. Now Kairi would get mad at her for ruining her school uniform... She kicked the body angrily, obviously blaming him for both making her drop her ice cream and leaving such a stain in her clothes. Sure, usually, she wouldn't care if she was covered in blood. In fact, she usually enjoyed it, but now she was wearing her uniform! ...And Kairi was going to make her take a bath...
