'Hatsu Shiro'
Canon/Non-Canon- Original
Birth Name- Henry White (Hasn't used it in many years)
Secret Identity- Hacker42 (His username online)
Nicknames- 'Hatsu Shiro' is his current 'name' for now. It's often pronounced wrong. This is what he gets for jumping from Japan to the USA instead of Japan to China or something. He pronounces it 'Ha-ts'. Most people say 'Hat-su'. It ticks him off.
Gender- Male
Age- Appears around 10. Is actually over 100 years in age.
Race- Human/Experiment
Alliance- Currently none save himself
Alignment- Sees himself as neutral, but more often than not acts on the side of good.
Citizenship- Neutral/Unknown. 'Hero Acts' are more often than not restricted to online activity.
Physical Appearance- Scarcely 4 feet in height, and weighing very little if anything (Probably around 85 pounds not that he checks often), Hatsu, as he is recently called, has grey eyes and chestnut brown hair. The hair is fairly long, past the shoulders, at the front, and gradually becomes shorter as it approaches the back, in a 'cut off ponytail' effect.
He often has half-lidded eyes, in an expression mimicking either boredom, or annoyance. (He's probably feeling neither.) Occasionally, generally if he's been shocked, or if he's in pain, the expression is lost and becomes quite exaggerated. This tends to throw people off actually...
Uniform- Generally, he wears 'normal clothes'; a green/yellow sweater and jeans more often than not. His online avatar tends to be the basic shadow with a question mark, as he sees no point in using one. He also carries around a black backpack, with his laptop inside.
Outer Personality- A rather guarded boy, he can seem not only non-sympathetic, but also rather selfish. He acts mostly for himself if anything, and prefers the calm and logical to the more obsessive interests of the world... A preference that often flys over most people's heads, when he says he would rather eat a healthy meal than have a pizza. It's likely that his apparent coldness is spawned from these logical tendencies. He often insults the intellegence of others, particularily children who appear his age... Though half the time the insults are only registered as such through tone. Hatsu tends to hold a seemingly neutral expression on his face, and is rarely surprised... Though if he is, the expression quickly vanishes.
Though Hatsu acts with coldness, he also acts with a good deal of morals. He may seem harsh with his responses, but in the end, each one has a good reason, and a small place in the heart. He can't help but well... Help people. Even if it's not in person, and through some not-so-honest hacking.
Inner Personality- Hatsu is quite lonely, spending most of his time on the run. The only place he can actually keep 'long term' friendships he finds, is online, and even that may vanish in the end. Believing that going after supernatural hopes and dreams will only end in ruin, he relies solely on logic to guide his way, and though he berates his apparent 'age group', he's actually fairly attracted to more childish things such as fair rides and the like. Though he'll very quickly insist the opposite.
Deep down, there's a large part that wishes he could say outright that he was the one who did something to help another, more so when he sees them asking aloud just who it was that came to their aid. Who was it that tipped the police off that night? How was it that, on the verge of bankruptcy and and eviction, their debts were suddenly completely paid? Although Hatsu knows the risks of leaving any trails, it takes a good deal of willpower to not do just that, so that someone could eventually find him.
Powers/Abilities- The result of an experiment relating to 'immortality', Hatsu sees his power as both a curse and a gift. For one, while it's great that nothing short of throwing him in a lava pit (Including beheading it would seem) can kill him, it is absolutely terrible that he still feels pain. And with his pain pathways constantly under repair, the pain from each injury, however often sustained, is just as vivid as the last time, and can often be powerful enough to send him into a non-fatal, frozen position form of shock. In addition, if placed in a position of 'constant death' (IE, frozen in a block. Melted in lava doesn't count, as all of his cells are gone), his body enters a 'stasis' state, and will not regain function until all of the factors of 'death' are gone. (IE, warmed up, lungs clear to take in air, etc.)
The age he was when attaining this immortality is also a drawback; he was only ten at the time, and thus retains all the strength of a small, ten year old little boy. This is one of the reasons, besides the fact that he must constantly move about to avoid being caught by some sketchy experimental organization, that he prefers to do most of his work through a computer. There, he can assume alternate identities, and safely get food, a place to stay, money, etc. Things a small ten year old little boy would not likely have access to otherwise, as well as access without entering a fairly one-sided, one on many, violent match.
Which he would lose. Very quickly.
Hatsu apparently took up fencing at one time, though that really doesn't do much with weapon laws in place. Though he could probably poke you to death if he was lucky and you were bound to a chair. On the bright side, he's quite cunning, so really, he could probably pay someone else to fight you for him, after first setting up a very effective plan.
As a side note, things that will kill Hatsu are basically anything that can completely destroy all of his cells in one shot.
Stasis on the other hand, can be induced by: Starvation, Drowning, Freezing, a constant state of shock (Can you say, 'Bzzzt!'?), and lastly a constant state of oxygen deprivation. There's probably more. But he would prefer not to check.
Weapons- No weapons. Not only is he not allowed to carry one, something that, as someone who avoids getting on the wrong side of the law in person, abides by, it would attract to much attention if he carried around a rapier all the time. If he finds a stick that he can lift, he could probably use that. But he'd rather not get in a fight as is.
Gadgets and Gizmos- He carries around his laptop in a backpack. Good luck hacking it. (Though it's quite possible.)
History- Born into a fairly interesting situation, Hatsu- Henry, at the time, was raised with a group of children in a group titled 'The White Group'. There were other children in the facility, quite likely either snatched away as infants or even children of the scientists there themselves, but it really mattered very little at the time. All that those in 'White Group' knew was that they were apparently lower than dirt, and were there for only one purpose, and that was the apparent furthering of mankind. Whatever that meant.
Of course, technology in the late 1800s wasn't known for it's successes, and as it turned out, experimentation (Which is what they were meant for), involved a mix of both crude machinery and tubes connected to their bodies, and a little black book with an upsidedown pentacle on the cover.
Through a series of experiments, many children in both White group and the others either died or became too far gone to even continue using. Experiments needed to be fresh, clean, after all. Those that survived would find themselves 'transfered' for other purposes, be it grunts or other scientists. Those that didn't... Well, better luck next time. Hatsu was one of the last few in Group White the day that they finally succeeded; however, due to the conditions, they didn't even realize it until it was far too late.
It took one week for the combination of magic and chemicals to set into his body, during which he'd been moved from the 'White Group' into an equally creativly named 'White Dorm'; a room where they would be trained to handle the more mundane tasks. For a short while, they would undergo examinations to make sure they were healthy, as well as classes. However, after scraping himself on the edge of a table to watch it heal over in an instant, 'Henry' quickly realized that the experiment, whatever it was, had worked, regardless of being listed as 'failed'.
Deciding that he would rather not end up furthering whatever was going on after a few more in 'White Dorm' became depressed over those who had not survived experimentation, he decided to instead sabatouge the very process that had made him, as far as he could tell, immortal. Gathering up a few of the others in the dorm, they made their move and succeeded... But not without losses.
As the others realized just how it was that he survived everything, they quickly told him they wanted no more of his plan. After their escape from the building they had never seen the outside of, they separated, leaving the boy alone to his own devices. However, they were not in the clear. Notice of a missing boy matching his description would quickly turn up, leading him to pull off a disguise after paying off a young street girl.
It would have worked too.. If he hadn't been caught in the mayhem of the resulting chase after said cross-dressing street girl and gotten himself beheaded before falling into the Thames. To his horror, even that didn't kill him though- after those chasing him had fled, his whole, if not water logged body had been pulled out by a few ragged hobos looking for a good coat. It is this incident that resulted in his 'ponytail cut', and after realizing that his hair scarcely if ever grows, he decided to leave it as is.
Years would pass, with him moving more east over the years and adopting various other names. From England to France, from France to Italy, Italy to China... As the times changed, he adapted as he could, keeping his head down and out of sight. Now a days, he's taken to hacking online and absolutely thrives at it, finding solace in a 'world' where no one knows his name.
RPG sample Jump City. As he stepped off the bus and looked around, he shrugged. So far it looked like a rather normal place... But, he added in the back of his mind, it definitly was one of the places to keep your baggage close.
Someone with a highpowered motorcycle could steal it or something. Granted, he added mentally, the chances of that were fairly slim given that he resembled a small child but... One could neve be to careful. Walking down the street before coming up to a small cafe, he held back a small smile. After all; he looked normal, didn't he? The boy sighed, before taking a seat and pulling out his laptop. Whatever; it wasn't like he'd be here for more than a year, two if he was lucky. Then, he would be hitting the road once more.
Name- Usagi (Got it from a rabbit hat I have a habit of wearing. ^__^ )
Age- 18 come December.
Randomness- I'm really bad with names, and associate things by face and personality. 'Hey, you know that guy with metal, and stuff from that show..' 'That's Cyborg'. 'I knew that'.
I'm not that bad, don't worry! xD
Did you read the rules? *looks through* Ahhh... (This is what I get for reading things weird) Alright then..
