Robin sighed wistfully as he wondered again where she was, glancing at his watch for what felt like the hundredth time since he got there. The small cafe was half-full, and though it was fairly new, the pristine summer sky meant that the outside section in which he was seated was fairly populated by Jump City civilians. Though the populace was fairly used to seeing the team, Robin still noticed the glances they kept shooting his way, no doubt wondering why the Boy Wonder was sat in a cafe on his own.
“Starfire, where are you?” he muttered to himself, oblivious to the fact that she was barely even five minutes late, he was eager to see her. Due to the rise of crime in the city recently, it was rare for Robin to find some time for himself and Starfire, and so he had been looking forward to this for a while. The sun shone in the clear blue sky, filling the city with light and heat, which was unfortunate for Robin, who was at that point clad in full uniform. Taking off his cloak, he draped it over the back of his chair, glancing around for the alien girl he’d been waiting for.
Robin stood as he spotted her floating towards the cafe, a grin erupting on his face at the sight of her. As she approached he again revelled inwardly at his growth spurt, meaning he was now a few inches taller than the Tamaranian.
“Hey Starfire” he greeted happily, moving forward to hug her.
