Junk food littered the living room: chips, popcorn, empty coke cans. You name it. Beast Boy himself sat on the couch in the middle of the mess, a coke can in hand as he watched television. Well, flipped through channels would be more like it. The bored expression consuming his face said it all, really. He was bored as hell. Don’t get me wrong, the changeling does enjoy TV, but not when nothing good is on. Plus, he’d been watching the set for hours. It just loses its awesomeness after a while.
It wasn’t like he didn’t try to find something else to do either. He did. He had made an attempt at locating his friends to do something with ‘em, but that had proven impossible. Robin was nowhere to be seen, most likely out doing some hero stuff. He did have suspicions that Cyborg was in his room seeing as the place was locked, but no amount of knocking would give him any answers. Star was just—gone. Poof! And Raven’s room was also locked {big surprise} or at least had been the last time he’d checked which was—what—three hours ago or something? He guessed that she was doing Raven stuff like meditation—or whatever it is you call it—and she had never appreciated interruptions. Anyways, the point was that all of his friends were busy and didn’t have time for him. This left him alone with nothing better to do than stare at the box all day.
Letting out an “awwugh” of annoyance, Beast Boy finally turned the thing off. Maybe he could simply go for a little stroll outside? Yeah. Going outside whenever he was feeling depressed had always been a habit of his. Some would compare him to a puppy. For one thing, he is he a social animal like a puppy, preferring company than seclusion. He’ll constantly run this way and that trying to get others to pay attention to him. As for when he’s alone? He’ll get upset. Like now. His entire body will droop with lonesome and he could be found curling up somewhere. Have you seen puppies with their head and ears hanging down? No? Well perhaps that’s because you were there. Kind of why nobody is aware of this side of Beast Boy. He’s never like this when others are around. His love of the outdoors, especially the park, is another similarity the boy has to a dog. It had always managed to lift his spirits.
So leaving the messy living room behind {it wasn’t like he was actually going to clean it}, Beast Boy headed for the park. The park, with its moist grass and crisp air, was definitely refreshing but—well—he was still bored.
