Alignment- Good
Citizenship- Hero
Physical Appearance- In most regards, Kara looks like he epitome of an average human girl her age. She stands at 5’4” with facial and body features somewhere between youthful and budding womanhood. Her hair is a light, sandy, blonde which she keeps at a length of about down to her shoulder blades; she used to hold it back with a simple black headband but has recently begun to let it hang loose. Other than the unusually light icy-blue of her irises, there is little visual to identify her as alien out-of-costume. However, it should be noted that her lifestyle has lent her a somewhat athletic physique and that her denser molecular structure makes her weight significantly above what it would appear to be by human standards.
Uniform- Supergirl has two costumes. Shortly after being brought to Earth by Superman, she cobbled together a basic costume consisting of navy blue short-shorts, white gloves, a red cape and boots, and a white crop-top T with the Superman logo emblazoned on it; all were easily bought at various stores. Recently however, she compelled Martha Kent to help her in designing and creating a unique costume stylized to both more closely emulate that of her adopted cousin Superman and to better establish herself as a more serious and grown-up member of he superhero community. This outfit consists of a blue lycra long-sleeved crop-topped tunic with insignia of the House of El with sleeves that extend into diamond shaped covers over the backs of her hands, a gold-belted loose red skirt, a more voluminous red cloak, and gold-gilded red boots.
Outer Personality- To the public, Supergirl is every bit the angelic celebrity she knows they feel she should be. While avoiding accepting any personal or monetary gain for her heroic efforts, she always takes the time to smile at, reassure, and even mingle in such activities as autograph-signing with civilians. To most of the hero community, she acts much the same in an effort to represent her adopted cousin’s legacy as best she can; she is always positive, confident, and simultaneously humble. Her moral code seems unquestionable.
Inner Personality- Unknown to most, Kara is not nearly as secure in her role as Supergirl as she pretends. After all, she first put on the costume primarily to be able to enjoy the thrill of her new powers without exposing Clark’s secret. But it became more than that in that first confrontation with Darkseid when she swore she would never let another planet die; she is still weighed down somewhat by her and her family’s failure to save Kandor and sees protecting Earth partially as a means to balance the scales and make amends for her past short comings.
Not raised on Earth like Superman, Kara also uses her superhero identity as a way to have at least one niche on this alien world. She only occasionally uses her Kara Kent civilian identity, staying as Supergirl the vast majority of the time because she is not and does not consider herself human. Though she has grown fiercely loyal and protective of her adopted home in her short time on Earth, it can often frustrate Kara. Privately, she feels that the vast majority of humanity’s technology, culture, and government are infinitely inferior to what she experienced on Kandor and allows humans to continue on their course without interference mostly only out of respect for Clark’s wishes. At times, she feels very much like an alien and a foreigner and very much alone.
Likewise, there are times when it is only the obligation she feels towards Superman while wearing his symbol that stays Kara’s hand from using deadly force. Not everyone can be rehabilitated in her opinion and, if Earth’s prisons cannot hold them and Clark continues to mostly refuse to use the Phantom Zone, she often quietly feels that execution is the most logical option. These are aspects of her thoughts shared only rarely and only with the most trusted of friends.
Powers/Abilities- Kandorians have extremely similar physiologies to Kryptonians. However, gravity was somewhat lighter on Kandor than on Krypton, therefore Kara’s cellular structure is not as dense as Clark’s. Moreover, she does not absorb and redirect solar energy at as great a rate. As a result, she has all the abilities of Superman but not quite to the same degree. They include:
- Superhuman Strength
- Superhuman Speed
- Superhuman Stamina
- Superhuman Lung Capacity
- Superhuman Hearing
- Multi-Spectrum and Heat Vision
- Near-Invulnerability
- Flight
- Accelerated Healing Factor
- Accelerated Mental Processing Rate and Eidetic Memory
Weapons- Only those her body or surroundings provide.
Gadgets and Gizmos- None
History- Kara In-Ze grew up on the secular planet of Kandor, daughter to a mother who was a member of the ruling council. She lived a pleasant, educated, and rather luxurious life until the age of 16. It was then that their sister planet of Krypton exploded, creating a backlash that literally knocked Kandor off of its orbit. For years, they drifted further and further away from their sun. Conditions deteriorated with drastically dropping temperatures that swiftly began to kill off flora, fauna, and eventually the Kandorians themselves.
Though a highly scientifically advanced world, their secular culture had led to there being no means of off-world travel on Kandor. Kara’s family, soon the only surviving members of he council, strove desperately to save their world. However, they had too few resources and too little time. They watched their efforts fail as their planet and people died around them. When it became apparent that Kandor was doomed, they sealed themselves inside cryogenic chambers and recorded a hologram begging for help should anyone ever find them.
Decades later, that someone turned out to be the sole survivor of Krypton. Though Kandor had long since become merely a chain of meteorite debris, the cryo chambers were partially preserved. Only partially however, as all but Kara’s had been badly damaged and their occupants had died. Superman awoke Kara and brought her back to Earth with him.
On Earth, Kara became an adopted member of the Kent family and, though initially warned by Clark to keep her powers under wrap, developed the persona of Supergirl for herself. Since then, she has grown to be a household name and notable member of the superhero community. She has recently decided to make an effort to be a more adult, serious, hero. She’s drastically changed her costume and is considering trying to join the Justice League… but perhaps she should consider a more age-appropriate superhero team first?
RPG sample Conner Kent, Kon-El, Superboy; all these titles were names used by the latest addition to Kara's multi-species adoptive family which now included humans, a Kryptonian, a Kandorian (herself), and now a Kryptonian/Human genetic hybrid. Soaring over the Metropolis skyline, Supergirl couldn't help but grin wryly, and perhaps a little sadly, at the life she now lived and the people she shared it with.
Like with Clark, she'd swiftly come to think of Conner as her cousin in all but blood. In fact, perhaps due to their ages, she sometimes found she could connect to him better than Superman. Now, with heavy thoughts on where to spend her immediate future and his old team of the Teen Titans a very real possibility, Kara found herself seeking out Superboy. She knew a particular park he often hung around and so headed towards it first.
As luck would have it, there he was; Supergirl swooped down to the bench on which the younger of her adopted cousins was sitting. Alighting on the ground a few yards in front of him, she gave a short wave and soft smile as she strode forward.
"Hey Kon, got a minute?"
