Birds sang in the trees, sounding out a peaceful melody. The sun beamed down upon the grass as it softly blew in the breeze. The distant sounds of children playing and people laughing could be heard. The friendly smells of a peaceful park wafted through as well: grilled meats, fresh grass, even a hint of sweat and exertion. Everything about Jump City's central park seemed completely at peace with the world.
Except, you know, the mugger running through the middle of the park.
Speedy paused mid hot dog bite, watching the man run by. At least, he looked like a man, kind of hard to tell when you really weren't paying all that much attention. You see, there was this hot dog in Speedy's hands, and it was about to drip relish and ketchup all over his fingers. That took far more of Speedy's attention and focus for the moment, though he realized that he probably should be doing something.
"Don't know if I'm going to be getting anything for this," he muttered. His eyes narrowed, following the path of the criminal. The distance had increased considerably, but Speedy could probably shoot and still hit said runner. Or, he could try something a little different, possibly not wasting an arrow on someone who seemed to be your run of the mill crook. After shoving most of the hot dog into his mouth, Speedy took off running after the crook, cutting across the park on a parallel path, his bow already spinning into his hands and ready for action.
Just in case.

Jinx was taking a nice walk around the park... Right. She was just smiling to herself, pleased at the murmurs that brought her presence in broad day light, people around her pointing and whispering. Ah, it was good to be bad. More than that, it was good to be recognized. Hell, if it wasn't for her evil powers, she could had been something else. Something big. But since she was stuck with bad luck, this wasn't so bad.
Her moment of glory was interrupted as people turned their attention to someone else. She didn't like that. There was a man running with... Robin? Her eyes widened and then she glared at him, raising an eyebrow. Since when Robin changed his outfit? She shrugged waving the thought out of her head. No need to think about stupid things. But she could be making the boy wonder look bad in front of all these people and be the center of attention again.
Jinx snapped her fingers, a pleased and cocky smile on her face, and the concrete under both running men broke. There we go. Maybe Robin would be distracted enough to not notice her so he would fall. At least the mugger had fallen flat to the ground. Sucker.

Easy, almost too easy. The distance between Speedy and the mugger had closed dramatically in the last few seconds, thanks to Speedy's awesome athletic abilities (thank you, thank you). In fact, he'd started smirking, opening his mouth to say something appropriately pithy to commemorate the moment. But just as his mouth opened, his feet hit cement. Cement that start moving. Dramatically.
"What the--!" exclaimed Speedy, jumping backward. He wound up doing a little dance along the suddenly rippling bit of false stone. Eventually he gave up and jumped backward, spitting another curse under his breath. Somewhere along the line, an arrow had found its way to Speedy's bow, and the young man's eyes had narrowed. first he focused upon the mugger, now sitting or, uh, laying on the ground.
"Okay, no way he did this," muttered Speedy. eyes still narrowed, he turned slowly, scanning the area. "Come on out and show yourself, coward!"
That sounded lame. Gotta fix that.
"I mean, I could see if you were scared, what with me being awesome and all. It's not like you're dealing with one of those wannabe Titans or something," bragged Speedy. He spun an arrow in a free hand, before nocking it again. "So feel free to hide and wet yourself or something. I've got all day."

Jinx would had laughed at the way the titan almost tripped if it wouldn't had ruined her cool poise. She wanted to look very much like the biggest villain ever and she wasn't going to look 'cool' if she started laughing loudly in public. People were already running at the little display of power and her smile just grew wider. Good! More people to fear her!
She took a couple of steps towards the mugger on the floor, smugly looking down at him as if screaming 'I am better than you'. Her hands on her hips and a satisfied grin finished Jinx look. There. Now to act cool and cocky towards- Wait, what?
Jinx crossed her arms, dropping her smile and raising an eyebrow at the guy. He was tall. Far too tall to be Robin. "You're not Robin." She oh so smartly stated. She was getting angry. All that cool display of powers for nothing. She wouldn't even start a fight with a real Titan. Just an impressionator. What had he been thinking?
She huffed, looking away from him. "As if I would be scared of a cheap copy." Who did this guy think he was? She pursed her lips and looked at him up and down. Yes. No way he was Robin. Plus, what was up with that bow and arrow? Didn't he know they had real weapons here?
"Maybe you should go back wherever you came from... guy." Who was he anyway? "You're not in Kansas anymore."

Speedy raised his brows. "You actually thought I was Robin? I look nothing like Robin! We have, what the same mask?"
Speedy shook his head. What kind of idiot would think he looked even the slightest bit like Robin? They had, what, the same mask? And... yeah, that's the end of the similarities. Nothing else even looked remotely similar. They didn't even use the same weapons!
"Cheap copy?" repeated Speedy, his jaw nearly dropping. "You're sorely mistaken Miss Wannabe-Witch, or whatever the heck you're supposed to be," Speedy paused to look Jinx over. she did look cute, he'd give her that, but a real villain? Not hardly. Speedy had taken care of much, much worse.
"Name's Speedy. Might want to remember that, since I'm probably the baddest thing you've ever encountered, Miss Mini-Witch," replied Speedy. A cock smile lit up his face, and he pulled the arrow back in a decidedly threatening manner. Why not? He was being taunted and clearly this girl had some issues.

"It's more than that... You move like Robin." She explained, waving a hand at him and pursing her lips. Why was he getting so upset about? Didn't people like being compared to the Boy Wonder? Well... he was the local hero and all. Not that Jinx was all that impressed with the birdie. To her he had far more attention than he should.
Wait. Miss Wannabe-Witch? Did he really just call her that? "What are you? Three?" She asked after letting out a small huff. Seriously? Witch? That was the best he could do. Hell, everybody at the H.I.V.E. called her a witch! BE ORIGINAL!
Wait. Did he say he was 'Speedy'? Jinx snorted, losing her frown and smiling at him. "Seriously? Speedy?" She laughed a little bit, before grinning at him. Okay then. Jinx just raised an amused eyebrow at the fact that he was pointing his arrow at her. Really? If she wanted to she could use her powers to break his bow. She wasn't paced by it.
"So... Speedy," Another giggle left her as she said it, "You're a bad guy then? Because it seemed to me that you were trying to stop a mugger." She looked down at the pathetic man moaning on the ground. "And that's just not what a bad guy does."

"I don't-- why the hell do people keep comparing me to--" Speedy just wound up glaring fiercely at the witch. Like the ability wasn't bad enough, now she had to act all high and mighty. Really? She didn't seem all that impressive to Speedy. So she could make pavement ripple, big deal. Like that had done anything to Speedy. And that had been when he hadn't been ready for it.
But no, she had to keep digging deeper. "Do I look three to you?" he demanded, waving a hand at his form. Clearly someone had seen a few years already. "I mean, come on, are you blind as well as stupid? Or do you think you're just that cool? Because trust me, you aren't cooler than me."
This required another smirk and a bit of a pose. The arrow found its way to Speedy's hand, though he kept his eyes on the girl. Clearly she was some kind of vill of some kind, and Speedy didn't want to get jumped just because he was looking the opposite direction at the time.
"I never said I was a bad guy, just that I was bad, you know, like good only-- seriously, do you live under a rock? Or are you just spending all your time flipping through Goth Weekly and picking up fashion tips?" Speedy raised his brows and eyed the outfit. "Kind of a shame too; you might be cute if you actually bothered. Oh well."
A shrug, and Speedy nocked his arrow again, raising his brows. "Were we going to fight? Or is this one of those talk each other to death things? I'm not a Titan, and I don't usually fight without a paycheck, but you're the one starting here..."

What a jerk! Jinx dropped all cool poses and she glared at him, feeling as insulted as she could. Blind and stupid? Who the hell did he think he was?ยก "Do you have ANY idea who I am?" She asked, her voice starting to raise. Jinx didn't do well when people got insulting. No cooler than him? "A light bulb is cooler than you!" She replied waving a hand hotly at him.
She huffed as he reached for his arrow. Really? An arrow against an elemental witch? HE was the stupid one! Not a bad guy? Jinx actually smirked at that. Good. That meant they were enemies. So she could attack him. Goth weekly? Ugh. No wonder this guy was alone! Who would want him around in any kind of team? He was a jerk.
Going to fight? Jinx smirked, "I thought you'll never ask." She replied before throwing a kick his way. Surely he will dodge that, but she had her powers on her side. He wasn't a Titan but he was a hero and she didn't do good with heroes.
She threw a beam of pink to a nearby tree, making a huge branch fall towards the road in their direction. Jinx jumped backwards and away from harm, landing with the same grace she always had.
Party was on.

Speedy shrugged, "You're some wannabe vill who's all talk,' he volunteered. A cocky smile soon followed, and he continued to watch the witch's movements, ready for her to start moving. Surely she couldn't just stand there and take everything that Speedy was dishing out. Besides, she'd attacked first; not Speedy's fault that she wanted to start something.
The kick was easy to dodge, and Speedy was already ready with an arrow in response. This particular one was just your standard stunning tip, and it started glowing the moment it left Speedy's bow. Unfortunately, the merc didn't have enough time to see how well his shot had gone off: a tree branch fell his way. He leaped backward, moving almost as gracefully as Jinx, and managed to dodge out of the way of the opening shot.
"Come on, that your best shot?" he called. A smirk, and another arrow soon flew in the general direction of the first. This one had a much bigger tip, one that would wind up exploding into a net as it got closer to the witch. Might as well try to end this fast. Someone like Jinx here hardly was worth too much of Speedy's time.

"*sshole." She muttered under her breath as he actually managed to dodge her kick. Well, Jinx wasn't the strongest fighter when it came to this kind of fight. Of course, being capable of giving bad luck to others was something no one else could do. He was already throwing arrows at her and she managed to break a few with her powers, but got scratched by others.
"Dammit..." She muttered, now throwing some more bad luck to the ground, making it crack and starting to move. A small earthquake came, and the trees around started to fall. Bad thing about her powers though: They affected her too. Maybe that was why she was able to move that lightly around. To actually run away from the messes she created.
People were already screaming, running away from the scene. She vaguely heard someone yelling that a Titan was fighting a villain and it made her smile. He wasn't a Titan, but she wasn't the only one thinking he was Robin.
Jinx jumped backwards, away from the chaos she'd created, landing into a safe place when a net suddenly caught her. "What the-" Jinx fell to the ground, tightly wrapped in the stupid trap. She hissed up at the guy, glaring as much as she could.
"You think this is going to stop me?" Her eyes sparkled pink and the net broke. She dusted herself off, glaring at the guy and pursing her lips. "So that's all you do?" She asked, tauntingly, "You throw around some arrows? How pathetic!"

The two danced about merrily, and Speedy almost start laughing. This was the kind of fight he lived for, the kind of fight where he just knew he'd wind up on top. Sure, things were going to be rough between now and the inevitable defeat of witchy wannabe the third, but Speedy knew how it would all turn out in the end. He'd already started writing his victory speech.
"Don't worry folks, just a little ruckus. Be over in a minute!" called Speedy. He turned his grin upon Jinx now, noting that his net had succeeded in catching her. Well, catching her for a few minutes anyway. Speedy wound up blinking as Jinx effortlessly tore his net to shreds. This might take a little longer than he'd originally figured. So much for an easy victory.
"All you do is shoot little bits of pink light," Speedy pointed out. He wiggled his fingers in Jinx's direction. "Ooooh, scary witch, gonna throw bits of pink light at me and make me sparkle. Please. You think I'm bad? News for you: I'm badder than you'd ever expect."
Another wide grin, and Speedy was pulling another arrow out .Time to start getting serious, since obviously the little stuff wasn't going to work on someone like Jinx. The arrow hit the string, fired into the air, and an icy trail started following. The air behind it crackled and temperatures around it immediately started dropping. Obviously Speedy intended to freeze his target before things got too out of hand.
"Clearly you need to chill out," he insisted, already chuckling at his obviously awesome and witty pun.
