Jinx was bored. Things really didn't go well when she was bored. She could be robbing something, sure, but even that sounded lame right then. She just knew some stupid titan or whoever thought themselves to be a hero at that time would stop her and ruin her fun.
So here she was, in the usual hang out, bored out of her head while sitting on one of the benches. Even the H.I.V.E 5 hadn't been all that cool lately. And the H.I.V.E Academy hadn't been giving them any jobs either. So.. yeah. B-O-R-E-D.
Jinx let out a loud yawn while stretching, giving her an appearance of a cat. Well, it wouldn't be the first time she acted like one. What with the eyes and the whole black cat look something was bound to stick.
She turned her attention to another member of their beloved team. Jinx kept that bored look on her face while she stared at the boy. All... dark and creepy. True, she didn't know much about her teammate, not that she cared much for them either, but now she was bored and she wanted something to do. And maybe that was finding a conversation with one of the most quiet, if not the most, persons she'd ever met.
"So," She started lightly, leaning back on her place, sitting on one of the benches, giving that cat look an emphasis, "Are you always this silent?"
No one could say Jinx lacked people skills.

Boring. Boring. Boring. Kyd Wykkyd kept looking around the old stadium for something to catch his interest, but so far, he was finding exactly zilch. He thought about all the entertaining things he could do if there was some kind of assignment. He wasn't particularly creative about coming up with new ideas such as heists and all that--that was why he was more follower material than leader. He expected Jinx to come up with something interesting, but when he did glance at her, she only looked twice as bored as he felt.
He turned his gaze away from her and down the long row of bleachers. Maybe he could play with his teleportation a little bit. Teleport down the steps... Then up the steps. Then down the steps, then up the steps... Then Jinx spoke, snapping him out of his daydream. He looked over at her. He didn't even blink, just regarded her as he thought about that one. Always this silent... Yes. He was always silent. What did she expect him to do? Nod? Shrug? Say something? Now he did blink at her before turning his gaze back towards the lowest steps of the stadium. He wanted to do something. Anything. But Jinx never wanted to take part in the sillier things the rest of the H.I.V.E. five did. She seemed to have a different agenda. She was on a different level. Maybe it was because she was a girl.

Jinx waited with the same cool smile... and waited... and waited... Until she realized he wasn't going to answer her question. She dropped her smile and pursed her lips, obviously angry at the lack of answer. Of course, the silence SHOULD count as an answer, but she wasn't thinking much about details.
"Hey! I asked you a question!" She replied now in a louder, less friendly voice. Her eyes beamed pink and the stairs at his feet cracked slightly. Jinx wasn't pleasant when she was mad. She managed to control herself slightly after that slight display of powers and let out a sigh. She sat back all the way, until she was laying on the bench, her legs still on the floor.
"I don't know why I hang around you guys." She started talking again, not really caring if he was paying attention or not. They never did hear her anyway, so she was pretty used to it. "You're just a bunch of losers."

For a moment, he thought she was going to bring the whole stadium down around them just because he was rude and said nothing. Staring at the crack that appeared at his feet, he glanced over at Jinx. He had nothing to say, even if he wanted to. Nothing against her. If he hated her that much, he wouldn't be here right now. He leaned forward and rested his chin in his hands, wondering where the others were. Gizmo never shut up, but he always had interesting gadgets to play with. See-More and Billy were amusing. Mammoth was dumb, but also amusing. Jinx? Kyd Wykkyd didn't know what to make of her. Or her retort to his silence. Losers? He frowned. If they were such losers, why did she hang around them? Just to have a convenient bunch of people to boss around?
Kyd Wykkyd stood up. He didn't know what it was he planned to do, but he wasn't going to sit here and listen to her berate him--and the others, who weren't even here. Maybe he'd go find them. Not to tattle, obviously. Tattling wasn't his thing. But to find somebody who would actually do something about the boredom--that he would do.
And that was when the radio he'd stolen earlier in the day from a police car went off. It was full of static and hard to hear what was going on, but he heard: "Come in! *crackle* --in! We've gotta robbery in progress! *crackle* --City Bank! All available units! *crackle* --armed and *crackle* --out!"
Then the radio clicked off. Kyd Wykkyd blinked, then looked over at Jinx. Interesting. If all available units were heading to the City Bank, then wouldn't that leave a nice opening for them to do... something...? Although he wondered who was robbing the bank. How stupid. If the cops didn't get them, the titans would.

Jinx was busy complaining of course, but she did notice his frown. It made her feel slightly guilty. True, Kyd Wykky wasn't as much as a loser as the rest of them. Well, at least he seemed to have a brain inside his head, unlike the others. Really! How could Gizmo be that smart and still act as dumb as the rest of them? Ugh. She would never know and she wasn't sure she wanted to know. But the quiet boy here didn't seem as brainless. Of course that could be because, well, he never actually said anything that would make him look stupid.
She sat up, using one arm for support and waved her free hand, "Not you. You know. The others." It was Jinx's own way to apologize. Not that she'll ever say she was sorry about saying something like calling any of them nitwits, but she knew when she hurt people's feelings.
Jinx was about to continue talking (and complaining) since that was what girls did best, when his radio started. She sat up straighter, looking at said radio with a mix of relief and happiness. Finally something was happening!
She stood up, walking towards the boy and placing a light hand on his shoulder, giving a couple of pats as if saying 'Good boy'. "If the police and the titans are busy with that robbery, that means the minor stores are free to get a little visit." She voiced his thoughts in her usual cocky way, taking the role of boss right away.
"What do you say? Want to go steal a new radio? How about an mp3? I've always wanted an Ipod." She smiled to herself while thinking of everything she could steal. Oh, maybe a new computer. And some music CD's too. Something loud and dark.
"Just wait for me to get there!" She started again in her scolding voice, "Just because you can travel through space, doesn't mean I can."

Jinx called them all kinds of things, and even though at the moment, she didn't include him, he was pretty sure she would the next time she did it. Somehow, it didn't much matter when he was with a whole group of them. When he was alone and being called a loser, it seemed like a low blow. Pfft, not that his feelings were hurt or anything.
He took the pats well enough, though, somewhat pacified. He looked at the police radio with some pride. Turned out his boredom might just be beneficial for them for once. Relieved that he would no longer have to listen to Jinx complain and sit there while he wished something happened, he gave a nod at her words. Leading wasn't a quality he had, but he would gladly follow somebody who knew the role well. Besides, an iPod would be nice.
Kyd Wykkyd had just been about to travel his usual method--a black shadowy ring had even formed--when she scolded him. He looked into the darkness. He could go that way, anyway, in spite of her. But then he'd be looking at more complaining. A light bulb went off, just as he'd been about to resign himself to going the slow way. There were only the two of them... And his way was faster. Without warning, he nabbed her by the wrist and they both passed through his shadowy door.
Destination... The nearby electronics shop!

He was still not answering but the idea of getting herself some new appliances made her mood take a drastic change. Well, Jinx was a moody girl. That was no secret. She just smiled at the thought of everything she would get that night. Lovely lovely things.
Of course Wykkyd's nod made her beam at him, pleased that he was listening to her. Not that he never listened to her. He was actually rather good at following strategies and such. The others were the ones that complained about them. Ah, it felt good to have someone to order around.
"Excellent!" She replied right before she saw the black ring. Oh no. And then came the scolding. Jinx was not the kind of girl to be left behind and be quiet about it. No. She leaded. She was the one to go first. She was not the one to follow behind.
She was about to retort that they could steal a car to get there at the expression her made, clearly showing it disappointed him that they had to get there the normal way, when he pulled her. "Hey! Wha-" Jinx closed her eyes tightly at the pull she felt. It was weird. She felt light for a second. Just a second. But when she opened her eyes they were already in front of an electronics shop, everything else deserted and only the sound of sirens at the other side of town.
Of course, even though she was impressed at the display of power, since she was used to jumping and running and such, she couldn't help but scold him again like she always did. "Next time warn me!" She spatted, taking a step backwards, uncomfortable to be standing so close to someone, especially someone who she'd never heard talking.
Jinx huffed before taking a step closer to the shop. Automatic doors. Easy as pie. Her eyes glowed pink and she waved a hand to them, sending a spark of pink light to them. A second later, sparks came out from the doors and she smiled.
"There we go." She said cockily and slid the big door open. "Ta-da!"

This mode of transportation was old hat for Kyd Wykkyd. He didn't give much thought to the fact that it wasn't something Jinx would be used to. It wasn't a habit of his to bring people with him--he could only bring maybe one or two people at a time, and to be honest, he never really had occasion to prove that he could do it--and nobody asked. So the secret remained. As did many of the secrets in his life. Or, well, that one wasn't so secret anymore, now was it?
Her reaction was classic Jinx, although Kyd Wykkyd didn't really expect it. How sad was that? She was being totally and completely herself and he still found himself completely blindsided by her behavior. It must be the fact that she was female. It was the only explanation he could come up with. Except, Angel wasn't quite so moody. Maybe Jinx really was frustrated by their collective lack of brains. That made some sense, anyway.
He merely watched as she backed away from him, making no moves to stop her. His goal hadn't been to make her uncomfortable, although he seemed skilled at doing just that without even bothering to try. His intention had just been to get them to the desired location as fast as possible. And hey! Guess what? They were here and the cops were still distracted by their armed robbery halfway across town. Couldn't have timed it all better, really.
Jinx opened up the doors with her ability and he waited until the doors were open and she was done crowing about it before he passed through them. The place was rife with all kinds of interesting objects. Kyd Wykkyd didn't even know where to start. There were music players of all kinds. He swiped a couple of the most expensive ones before moving on, gazing on rows of televisions and DVD and Blu-Ray players. CDs, movies, even slender laptops and netbooks. They could make a bundle off this junk if they found the right place to pedal it. Not to mention, outfit the entire group with the latest in entertainment technology. He smiled. This was more like it. Boredom cured.

Jinx almost frowned as he walked pass her, uncaring as always for her amazing display of power. Hrmp. Not at all what she'd wanted. She just rolled her eyes and followed, her hands placed on her hips as she took in everything around her. Wow. Lots of stuff to chose from.
She moved near the ipods as soon as she notice them, looking up and down at them until she saw the most expensive one. Expensive meant better, right? She grabbed one and left. She wasn't as greedy as the other guys. One would be enough... One plus a computer of course. She grabbed one of those too.
"Way better than shopping, right?" She asked Kyd Wykkyd as she crossed paths with him as she got near the CD's. Jinx was all smiles now that she had something to do. Plus all the pretty stuff she was getting. Next they should go to a jewelry store. Or maybe to grab some clothes. Hmm... Somehow she didn't think that was Kyd Wykkyd's kind of place.
With a shrug, and now not really expecting an answer, she moved to the stereos. Ah, one of those would be nice for her bedroom. With a small mischievous smile, she connected one and turned it on. Who cared if someone realized they were there? The police was too busy with the bank and surely the dork titans were there too.
An upbeat song started and Jinx couldn't help but twirl at the sound. She was actually feeling happy. It reminded her of the dances at the H.I.V.E. Academy. Ah, they needed one of those soon.

Kyd Wykkyd took what he could carry, conscious of the fact that he could sell some of it--or he could be nice and give some to the others. A lot of the things he'd snatched were smaller, so it was easy enough to pocket them away. The laptops were quite a bit bigger, so he held one tucked under his arm and left it at that. At least he'd have his own computer, rather than having to be stuck with the Academy's ancient crap. Or, how was it Gizmo had put it again...?
While he puzzled that out, he realized that Jinx had turned on one of the nearby stereos. A small smile appeared on his face. He wasn't going to start dancing, but Jinx was pretty good at it. At first, it seemed like they'd be left alone, but eventually, as the song began to end, somebody in the store's uniform was clued in and came over, looking annoyed and ready to throw them out.
"You kids aren't allowed to--" was all he got out before Kyd Wykkyd moved forward and gave him a swift punch to the gut. Then, while he was doubled over, he took his current laptop and smacked him in the back of the head--effectively knocking him out. He tossed the laptop onto the ground with a loud crash. He wasn't keeping that after he'd used it as a weapon. He nabbed a new one of a shelf.
Hearing the crash, another one of the employees came barreling over. He looked like he might be manager material--an overweight man with a comb-over. If he wasn't management, Kyd Wykkyd thought he should consider killing himself. Or going into a life of crime.
"What'd you do to Harry?" the man cried before Kyd Wykkyd dashed right past him, shoving him onto his tubby behind. He was going to trust that Jinx knew to get the heck out of there as well.

Jinx was too busy dancing by herself, actually smiling. She noticed Kyd Wykkyd watching her and she raised an eyebrow at him, "Don't you ever have some fun?" She asked him, not at all embarrassed by it. She knew he didn't dance, but she also knew it was rather hypocritical of her to ask such a question. She was the one that never joined their games. Well, if their games weren't such stupid boyish activities she would join. But all they did was play video games, make burping contests and forts out of pillows. Ugh... Boys...
Her dancing was interrupted by another voice and she stopped her dance, placing her hands on her hips and smirking at the newcomer. She just watched as Kyd Wykkyd slammed the computer on the poor guys head. Ouch. That had got to hurt. She chuckled a bit.
Kyd Wykkyd was making a run for it and she figured she should at least follow him. Jinx grabbed her new stuff, hugging it against her chest with one arm. She ran straight towards the fat man on the floor and used his shoulder as a jumping board, making a twirl on the air.
"Thank you for the free stuff!" She waved at the shocked guy with a wide smirk before running up to Wykkyd. She laughed loudly, her heart still beating hard with excitement.
"Well, that was fun!"

Hey. Just because he didn't dance with her, hardly meant that he didn't ever have any fun. It just meant that dancing wasn't his preferred method of having fun. He'd much rather play a video game and yes... Make a fort out of pillows. The best forts were made out of a lot more material, though. Sheets, chairs. And then, somebody had to get a flashlight and tell gory horror stories that kept everyone up all night. Kyd Wykkyd had never told a horror story, but he enjoyed hearing them. Jinx never took the time to have fun with them when they did things like that. He'd always thought it was because she thought they were immature and stupid boys. It was what she said, anyway. But he wondered now. Maybe she just feels left out because we all pretty much have an understanding and none of us understand her. He knew all about not being understood.
Now this was all more like it. Now they were outside the store again and the sounds of sirens still wailed, he turned to her with a beaming smile. Look at that. They'd managed to completely dispel their boredom. He could teleport them back to the stadium--or somewhere else altogether, but there were other stores and they did still have a little more time. He was still feeling daring. Was she?
Normally, he would have waited to see where she pointed them next, but he was already moving onto the next store. It was a boring looking one. Jewelry. Kyd Wykkyd didn't care about jewelry. He almost completely bypassed the store, but a shiny necklace in the display window caught his eye. Surely something that shiny and big had to be worth a ton! And it'd be so easy to just take it. He looked around before opening a shadowy little window through the glass. He poked his hand in and grabbed the necklace, along with a few other things around it. He turned to Jinx and held them up. The glass was back in place--as if he'd never reached in and stolen anything.

Of course the moment Kyd Wykkyd smiled back Jinx felt accomplished. It wasn't that he had never smiled before, but it was so weird to see him smile around her. He usually smiled with the others, not with her. Jinx had always felt they didn't like her. Well, not that that was a surprise seeing how moody she could be, but she was their self proclaimed leader! They had to respect her! But all they did is just waste time and effort... and now she could see why. It had been fun and she got something good out of it. A brand new ipod!
Jinx was about to say they should go back to the H.I.V.E. when he moved to the next store. Oh! Jewelry! "Well, you have some good taste!" She said with a bright smile, already hoping to his side in order to choose something for herself. She just loved jewelry.
She was about to break the window with her powers when he selected a few things for himself, using his cape. Well, that was certainly less messy. She smiled proudly at him, as if his powers were all part of her accomplishments. Well, he was part of her very selective team. She ought to be proud of him, right?
"Can I take that one?" She asked, still smiling, while pointing at a pretty necklace with a bright red jewel from the jewels he was showing her. She patted his shoulder a few times again. Okay, so maybe it was a bit weird of her, but Jinx wasn't one for hugs and cuddles. So she patted.
"And, maybe we can go grab some pizza too!" No one could say no to pizza right? Besides, she was pretty grateful that he had managed to take her boredom away. This felt like a bonding moment or something. Something she'd never allowed herself to do with the other members of their group... Maybe she ought to start from time to time. Well, at least when they were alone. A bunch of guys together just meant stupid jokes and burping contests.

He was somewhat startled by the fact that he apparently had good taste. He'd really just chosen some jewelry at random, but it still felt nice to be complimented for once. He was accustomed to hearing complaints, insults, and occasionally critiques from professors at the H.I.V.E. Not so much compliments.
Nodding, he handed over the necklace she requested, then looked down at the rest of what he held. Girls did like jewelry. He wondered if he should save something for Angel. As if she weren't capable of stealing her own. Still. Girls did seem to like presents, too. Then again, he didn't know anybody who didn't like presents. He didn't mind the patting; understanding that it was just Jinx's way of showing approval. He nodded again to show that he approved of pizza. Like most boys his age, he was a huge fan of pizza.
He tucked the rest of the jewelry away and scanned the area. Where was the pizza place, anyway? There was usually one on every block. There! He pointed it out, in case she hadn't noticed it and then headed on over. He had no real preference in topping, except he didn't like mushrooms. Some people said Hawaiian pizza was gross, but that was one of his favorites. What was wrong with a little sweet mixed into the meal? If you asked him, he thought eating fungus was a lot worse.

Jinx beamed as he gave her the necklace and she snapped it away from his hand immediately, then threw it over her head and smiled down at it. It was so pretty! Just the kind of thing she liked. Plus it was sort of a gift and it made it all the more enjoyable.
She turned to see Kyd Wykkyd looking down at the rest of the jewelry and she smiled teasingly, grinning like a cat. "You're thinking about Angel, aren't you?" She teased, leaning forward to look at his reaction. She giggled into her hand before taking her usual proud stand with her hands over her hip, looking as cocky and proud as ever.
"You should give the rest to her!" She declared as if she was the expert in such things. Well, no one could say Jinx wasn't girly. She still found pleasure in relationships and anything romantic, even though if she was sort of pushy in the subject and would never admit liking such things either.
Jinx nodded as he pointed towards the pizza place. Maybe she was embarrassing him? Jinx's smile widened at that thought. Oh, embarrassing Kyd Wykkyd would be great, although she imagined it to be impossible. Even if he was embarrassed, she doubted she would notice it.
"Let's go." She added, walking towards the pizza place. "Maybe we can have some mushrooms pizza!" She let out a laugh as she walked, before winking at him. "I know, I know. No mushrooms." Of course Jinx knew them all well enough to know what they liked and disliked. Well, not that Mammoth would complain about having anything really. She'd seen him eat left over pizza hidden in the fridge for over a month. She shuddered at the memory.
