"The day starts to slip away once again leaving me alone in this darkness."
Words echoed through the halls of the empty old sports stadium. All the empty halls were filled with gang marks and random pieces of art from spray cans. These pictures lead all the way to the main part of the stadium that was filled with broken stadium seats and rails. Large cut marks were made into one side of the stadium seats showing signs of a struggle. Sitting not to far away the source of the words. A dark figure watching the sun set. A white mask hiding his face under the dark hood. His sleeves were torn and there were scattered broken guns and blades around him. This was a home for many gangs and bad guys. Though that was all changed when Jack The Ripper decided to step in and put an end to it. His tall frame sat spread out along some broken seats and his feet braced against one of the standing guard rails. Jack was a hero in the eyes of many of the people who saw him. He knew better of course. Jack didn't know what he was. His mind and heart was lost in a void. Everything is so confusing and blurry. The sun just started to set and soon the darkness would set in once again. Looking down at some of his handy work Jack let out a light chuckle.
"Didn't even have a chance to fire off a round this time. I'm getting better. Then again is it right to just let them run out and get caught by cops. Won't they just be back? It just seems pointless at times."
A rail fell from the upper level landing next to Jack causing him to look over with a lazy expression. Jack could care less of actions such as this having no fear of something that already missed while some may of jumped or got surprised. It was just how he was taught. Though he was taught how to fight but not how to live.
"This world is so confusing. Gives me a headache."

Maia was running, running as fast as she could. She had lost track of time and now the sun was setting! She had to hide so no one could see what she was. She was panting, almost racing the sun. An abandoned stadium! That was perfect!
Without another thought she ran into it, ending up in the very center. Good....no one was here. Maia's mind was distracted but in a moment she was snapped out of it as she gave a cry of pain, falling to her knees. Here it was. It was happening! She hide back tears as the sun faded away, her blond hair turning black as the night sky as darkness descended upon the city.
Once it was over Maia was panting, trembling on the ground in a midnight blue dress, her eyes remained closed. Her parents were going to be so mad! She hadn't made it home in time! Well....at least no one saw her that she knew of.

Jack slowly watched the sun go down as he heard the sounds of someone approaching. Looking over to one of the entrances Jack could see what appeared to be a blond haired girl. He was just going to dismiss it thinking it was just some city girl here to meet up with a boy or something. Though that was all thrown away when the sun finally made it's way behind the horizon. He heard the girl cry out and Jack jumped onto his feet to get a closer look. By the time he got there she was on the ground and her body went through a very strange change. Her hair went black and she seemed like she was in pain. Jack couldn't just stand there so he jumped down landing gently along side the girl. Crouching down to get a good look at her Jack could see she was trembling. Reaching a hand out slowly he gently reached for her shoulder speaking in a soft voice.
"Are you okay? Do you need a hospital?"
Jack had no idea what was going on and never seen anything like this before. The girl had some of the same appearance but at the same time one could think it was a totally new person. It could of been some kind of power or curse. Though Jack had no idea what he should do. In fact Jack never realized that him showing himself may of caused more trouble then helping. He wasn't exactly the most soft spoken person.
"Please be okay."

She almost jumped when she felt hand on her, keeping her eyes shut. No! Had he seen!? She was in big trouble now! Someone had seen her. Maia shook her head, trying to push him off and back away. not opening her eyes.
"Pl-please don't hurt me. I don't want any trouble! Please! I-I don't know what you saw but please!" Now she was trembling in fear instead of the pain of the change. She was in big trouble now. Maia was sobbing, clearly frightened for her life.

Surprised by her reaction Jack took a step back but stayed crouched down. Jack watched as she started to sob and cry out in fear. He kind of figured this would happen but he couldn't just leave her now. That was something Jack couldn't do. Staying at a safe distance from her for him so she may feel a bit safe Jack started to speak in a soft voice.
"I won't hurt you. I promise. I'm a good guy. I fight bad guys."
Jack felt very awkward speaking like this. Though he couldn't really help it. This girl was very scared and he just wanted to try and help. So Jack knew he may have to act a little different. Removing his hood and just keeping on his all white mask Jack kept watching her. Her eyes were held shut and it was clear she didn't want people to see her. Though just how bad was it for her. It's not like she turned into some monster.
"Please try and stay calm. You might hurt yourself."
Jack could only think of how really dumb he must sound right now and if he took the time to really think about all this. He might just feel embarrassed he was being like this around someone.

Fight...bad guys? Was he saying....? Maia was still shaking and sobbing as she opened her eyes revealing that one was red and the other yellow. "You.....don't assume I'm bad because of what I am, then?" Now she was very curious. Who was this man? She couldn't see because of the mask and hood.
"W-who are you? Are....you...li-like me?" Her voice actually sounded a bit hopeful at that. She would give everything to know she wasn't alone in the world. To know she wasn't such a freak!

"Why would I think your bad? You look just fine to me. Your eyes are very nice."
Jack saw nothing wrong in her having two colored eyes. He enjoyed the red colored eye though that was probably the more animal like side in him. He liked the color red and black. So really he found this side of her to be the more normal to him. Though it was clear from her words she didn't every meet someone like him. When she asked who he was, Jack was just glad she calmed down a bit.
"My name is Jack...I-I'm something. Your much more normal looking than me."
Jack knew that his mask may of made her a little more uneasy but was his face that much better. He had the face of a normal guy but his eyes and teeth may just be something to worry about. After thinking about it Jack figured it would probably be best so she didn't get any more scared. Unzipping the white upper body sports armor Jack removed it with his mask leaving on his hoodie to cover his skin and hide his face. Removing the hood Jack's face showed through the moon light. His ice blue eyes watching her. His mouth was slightly open as he breathed in the cooler air. His large teeth showing off in the light. Finding it to be a relief to take it off from time to time. In this case it's been a few weeks. His skin a slight tan to it and his hair as black as her's resting on his head. Just shorter and thick.
"See? Nothing is wrong with you."
Jack could only imagine what reaction he may get. He could only hope it was short and fast. Being rejected from the rest of the world still hurt even a person as hard as Jack.

That made Maia's tears stop at once. He...was like her. Still, she showed curious caution, very slowly reaching forward to feel his face. This...was real. And yet what had her attention the most were those icy blue eyes.
This all felt so unreal...she had found someone like her. "I....I always thought....it was me and my father. I never thought there was anyone else here like us." Somehow, she managed a small laugh. "...normal? Last I checked having your hair and eyes change depending on the time of day was far from normal."

Jack watched her feeling a bit awkward to have someone this close. The only time someone was this close was during a fight. It was odd to have a feeling like this. He was glad he was able to stop her crying though. Seeing her hand Jack just watched her reach for his face. It was not like him to feel this calm around her but he felt like he had to. Not wanting to hurt her any further.
"If you still know your father than we are not to much the same. My father is a demon."
Jack saw her laugh and just looked off to the side slightly. He wasn't use to being around people. Nevermind a girl laughing and talking with him about something like this. Either way Jack knew that he felt a sense of connection between him and her. Though at the same time her problems were a little different.
"Your hair and eye color changes. There isn't anything wrong with that. I think you look just fine."
Standing up Jack stretched out his long legs and wondered just what kind of girl he ran into. Though he was glad to see she wasn't crying any more. It was very easy for Jack to understand though the feeling of being so alone. Though it was the cause for Jack's pain that ripped his mind apart at times.
"Put it this way when people see you they see a girl with nice hair and pretty eyes. They see me and see a guy who can bite someone's head off. Though now I have to ask. You know my name. What's your name?"

"Maia....and I'm not as normal as I look." She slowly stood up, taking out a hidden dagger. Without a word, in one swift movement she slash her left arm. The blood stopped in midair and started floating before she pulled it back inside her and it healed over in a flash.
"....at night I'm known as Blood Star. My father is a mutant born from a blood experiment gone wrong. He doesn't come out during the day at all because of people. Scared of people's fear...of what their fear makes them do to people like us."

Jack got a little nervous when he saw the blade but was almost ready to restrain her when he saw her cut herself. Though before he could make a move it all stopped in the air and went back into her arm. After hearing her story he understood now why she was afraid. Though as long as she used that power to help people. Some people would at least accept her for who she is.
"I understand now. Though when I look at you I only a person not a monster. Maia you have a gift."
Jack was about to say something else but was cut off by motion behind him. By the time Jack turned around a gun shot sounded and his eyes widened in response to the sound. The bullet appeared to be moving slow in the eyes of Jack. Moving his body he dodged a side from the bullet that would hit the higher up of a seat instead. Running at him Jack deflected a few more bullets and as he got in close the guy fired one last shot that was about to make contact with Jack's face. Before his blade shot up cutting the bullet in half and then the gun. Jack could of dodged the bullets but didn't want to risk Maia. The kid who fired the gun was a very young gang member from before and was frozen in fear now.
"Get out of here kid. Don't end up like your older friends."
The kid ran off and Jack held his head. The pain was starting to sink in again. His old scars would always burn after a fight but it's something he couldn't help. No matter what the pain wouldn't go away. Putting his blades away Jack turned back towards Maia and watched her.
"This is who I am. I'm Jack The Ripper."
Jack sent down on the ground holding his head and grinding his teeth. It felt like his head was splitting in two but it was something he couldn't help. His body wasn't normal. A part of him wanted to kill people and another part didn't know what it wanted. So he was torn in two and was left with burning body and a huge head ache.
"So Maia I'm guessing you came here to hide from people right? Well I'm just here for a place to stay the night. If you want I can help you home."

"I know...but I also know not everyone views it as such." She almost screamed, eyes wide at the gun shot. Maia started shaking again, looking up in time to see the kid running. Seeing Jack in pain she quickly ran over. "Jack! Jack! Are you alright?!"
Jack...the Ripper? "...it's a cursed name you give yourself. One you don't deserve. J-Jack?! You alright. Did you get wounded anywhere!? I-I can help with my powers! Where are you hurt?!"
She surprised by his question, frowning slightly. "I came here to hide so no one could see me change. So the city wouldn't know Maia Miller is Blood Star. You...do you a place to stay? If you need...we have room in my house. It's not much but there's room for guest and we don't get many."

"Just my head."
Jack looked up to see Maia watching him worried. It was odd having someone care so much. Though Jack was not one to really complain. When she spoke of his name and how she wanted to help Jack tried to take the time to let it all process. Jack sat up and watched her shaking his head a bit to clear it up. Wondering just what to say.
"My head hurts sometimes. Cause I'm fighting a not so good instinct. As for being hurt well it's just my scars really that burn around my body. I'm fine really."
Jack stood up and watched her as she offered him a place to stay. He let out a slight laugh thinking she was a very nice girl but maybe not thinking of what having Jack stay there meant. Looking back to make sure the kid really did leave Jack felt his head ache leave him and just that burning sensation around his body was left.
"My name was given to me cause I'm cursed. The son of a demon. These wounds burn because I only feel pain and anger. I have forgotten my real name. I just know I'm Jack."
Looking at the sleeves of his hoodie Jack just let out a sight. He really needed to find a tailor or something. This happened on a daily basis almost and having one pair of clothes was hard. He left his place in this world a long time ago to stand among these people. He wanted to find his place in this world. Until he does he will not be able to feel anything more than his haunting thoughts and feelings.
"Don't you think asking a guy home you just met is a little reckless Maia? I don't think your parents would want you around someone like me."

....a not so good instinct. "Surprising enough I understand. I can usually control it but on the full moon I tend to get a strong blood lust that I hate. Feels like my blood is boiling. I have to fight hard or risk losing control. Risk hurting someone."
Maia looked at the ground sadly. She hated the full moon because of that. It was a horrible time for her. Sometimes she'd beg her parents to lock or chain her up somehow to make special sure she hurt no one.
"Demon, mutant.....is it really our parents that are the curse? I don't think your cursed. Your...nice. By now I could be dead but not only have you not harmed me...in a way you protected me just now."
Maia managed to smile a bit again as he talked about him staying, giving a small laugh. "Reckless? You saved me just now! Besides...your already offering to help me home. Please...someone like you? My father can be worse especially when he doesn't take his medicine. If anything they'll be happy I met someone who understands us."

"That's how my body feels all the time. Though I was trained to control it. It just causes me pain now."
Listening to her words made Jack feel so out of place. He didn't think people like her existed out of story books. Even his uncle who he felt loved him really did treat him rough. Though if he didn't he probably would of become something far worse than he was now. As Jack watched her he felt like he was in some kind of dream. Though his body was still burning so it had to be real. Unless he was going to feel this even in his dreams now.
"Well I...I...I just wanted to make sure you weren't hurt."
Jack didn't know how to respond cause most of the time the people he helped or someone he tried to save never stood around to thank him or talk to him. It was kind of odd and Jack started to scratch the back of his head. He felt really out of place and was a bit embarrassed even though he wouldn't admit it. As Jack heard her speak he just thought it was such a bad idea to get close but another part wanted to go so bad.
"Okay I guess I can go with you. I want to make sure you make it home okay. I'm not promising I'll stay though."
